The manufacture of <strong>personalized prostheses<\/strong> by AVINENT using <strong>3D printing in titanium into which dental implants can be integrally incorporated<\/strong> means patients only have to undergo a single surgical operation and hence speeds up the recovery process.<\/p>\n<p>The inclusion of the patient\u2019s dental restoration in the same operation makes this a unique medical service, since it enables the affected person to recover their ability to chew from the outset. <strong>The new maxillofacial reconstruction system uses parts of the patient\u2019s fibula or hip<\/strong> to reproduce the patient\u2019s jaw as precisely as possible using the necessary cutting guides. Complex facial defects, most of which are caused by tumors or bone fractures, can thus be resolved.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"responsive\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.avinent.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2019\/12\/fets\/albert-giralten1.jpg?1490032484603\" alt=\"\" width=\"744\" height=\"163\"><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"responsive\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.avinent.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2019\/12\/fets\/xavier-camien.jpg?1490032547678\" alt=\"\" width=\"744\" height=\"163\"><\/p>\n<p>In the past, customized prostheses could only be made by outsourcing them to non-Spanish companies, but now they are manufactured locally, which has also speeded up and facilitated the constant contact and understanding between the doctors and AVINENT technicians. The geographical proximity between the hospital and the company has also resulted in faster shipping times for prostheses, which can be supplied within <strong>48 hours from the moment the order is placed to the final delivery to surgeons<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"responsive\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.avinent.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2019\/12\/fets\/dr-coro-bescosen.jpg?1490032591727\" alt=\"\" width=\"744\" height=\"163\"><\/p>\n<p>Even though the service has only just been announced, the Hospital Universitari Vall d\u2019Hebron and AVINENT have been working together for some months now.
