\t\t\t\tThe new AURORA structures by AVINENT<\/span><\/a>, printed in 3-D using titanium, have a design conceived so the dental laboratory can choose between three different types of solution for its mirror finish. On the one hand, we have the AURORA Premium, where an anatomically superior structure is milled, and on the other, the AURORA Acrylic, which allows the laboratory to customise the retentive areas of the main structure so that the acrylic teeth adhere much better, and lastly, the AURORA Composite, which are designed to finish the structure using a liquid composite material. This last solution, the subject of this article, has a series of characteristics that are highly favourable for the patient.<\/p>\n

One of the Spanish dental technicians with a great deal of experience and recognition in the field of dental prostheses finishes using composite materials is Jorge Reyes<\/strong>, aka \u201cCoke\u201d, the director of Laboratorio Dental Reyes, in Madrid. Reyes has a great deal of experience in the restoration of dental prostheses, and his work has been widely recognised by the sector, particularly for his flawless manual finishes during the final process of the prosthetic structures using composites materials.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

When we asked Jorge Reyes about the keys to gaining excellent results, the dental technician said that although it is true that \u201cthe first thing that is valued in restorations is always the aesthetic aspect, so that this appearance lasts in mouth and is a success, it is necessary for there to be a good combination between the structure and the aesthetic coating, which in this case is the composite material.\u201d<\/strong>  And it is here where AVINENT structures also play a key role. Jorge Reyes explained that the AURORA Composites \u201cprovide a greater bond and retention of material between the composite materials and the structure\u201d<\/strong>, given that \u201cit offers us a system of \u2018micro-tensions\u2019 which are ideal for the bond with the composite material, and which, at the same time, do not rob us of space for the aesthetic load\u201d. The dental technician highlighted that \u201cthis is a very positive aspect of this structure type\u201d.<\/p>\n

Other benefits mentioned by Jorge Reyes make reference to the material used for the AURORA structures: titanium<\/strong>. On the one hand, this component \u201chas allowed them to be much lighter compared to other solutions\u201d, and on the other, it allows the dental technician to \u201crestore this type of work using the same material as that which they are going to be attached to, namely the implants. Titanium is a material that is very compatible in the mouth and the AURORA structures make it so that we do not need to mix or combine different components\u201d.<\/p>\n

Jorge Reyes has been performing restorations using only composite materials for more than five years<\/strong>, although it should be mentioned that Laboratorio Dental Reyes does use other materials. For this dental technician, the composite material is of the same quality as ceramic, two \u201ctop-class\u201d materials, according to his own words. Reyes argues that the composite material \u201con the one hand provides a very good bond between the structures thanks to the adhesives and to the retentions of solutions such as the AURORA structures\u201d, and, on the other, \u201cprovides aesthetic results that they have nothing to be ashamed of when compared to ceramic\u201d. Furthermore, he added, \u201cthe composite material is very comfortable for the patient, it better absorbs impacts and has a hardness similar to that of a natural tooth\u201d.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

This comfort for the patient is precisely one of the main objectives of the new AURORA structures,a solution that is manufactured following a wholly digital workflow<\/span> <\/a>and which allows the final structures to be highly comfortable for the patient. Jorge Reyes\u2019 laboratory is fully immersed in digital technologies and is equipped with scanners, milling machines and 3-D printers. One of the latest acquisitions is the 3Shape E3 scanner<\/a>, which Reyes bought from AVINENT. Jorge Reyes admits that \u201calthough I am a great believer in manual work, the scanners improve our adjustments and perfect the creation of the structures in the laboratories\u201d<\/strong>. With regard to the technical support service received and the relationship with the design team at AVINENT, Reyes, could not be clearer: \u201cI greatly value the system and the workflow. In my opinion, there is a lot to be said for technical support and advice when deciding whether to buy this technology, and the AVINENT team make it much easier<\/strong>.\u201d The dental technician pointed out that \u201cwe are in constant contact with the technicians. When we have any queries, we contact the technical service and they reply quickly and efficiently. I also receive a great deal of support at a commercial level.\u201d<\/p>\n

And because of this, Reyes is clear about one thing: \u201cI would wholeheartedly recommend the use of the scanner to my colleagues\u201d<\/strong>, and he also encourages his customers (clinics) \u201cto get on board with the digital flow\u201d, where, according to his criteria \u201cthere is still a lot of work to be done by commercial firms.\u201d\t\t<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
