The training course will take place from autumn onwards in Barcelona.<\/p>\n<p>There are limited places available in the course and its aim is to offer both theoretical and practical training to provide students with the knowledge, skills and abilities to enable them to plan cases and perform surgical and prosthetic procedures for implant-borne oral rehabilitation. The course will give students a good foundation in implantology and surgery in situations deemed ideal. It is aimed at dentists, stomatologists, resident physicians of oral and maxillofacial surgery and oral and maxillofacial surgeons wanting to introduce oral implantology into their professional practice.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span class=\"azul\">A pioneering training initiative in digital dentistry<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>One of the most outstanding new features of this edition of the course is the completely digital approach that it will take, thereby bringing added value. <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.avinent.com\/en\/cad-cam-solutions-and-3d-printing-a-relationship-to-discover\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span class=\"azul\">The entire process will follow a digital flow<\/span><\/a>, from initial diagnosis using CT scan imagery and intraoral scanning through to case planning with 3D technology, and even manufacturing the prosthesis by using CAD\/CAM methodology. Dr. Javier Mareque, director of the course alongside Dr. Ferr\u00e9s, states: \u201cIt is very important that the course incorporates digital dentistry, because we already know it is a key element and the future lies here.\u201d Along similar lines, Dr. Mareque emphasizes that the Oral Implantology course organized by the Societat Catalano-Balear de Cirugia Maxil\u00b7lofacial i Oral \u201cis the first in Spain to include this digital approach.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"responsive\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.avinent.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2019\/12\/mareque-avinent.jpg?1532615540424\" alt=\"mareque-avinent\"><\/p>\n<p>The course comprises 18 modules that are divided into two complementary programs of an academic year, with nine modules each year. The first program includes both theory and practice and an introduction to oral implantology. It will offer high quality, pre-clinical theoretical and practical training in Oral Implantology, Surgery and Prosthetics, providing students with the knowledge, skills and abilities to commence or make further progress in gaining competence in the clinical practice of digital oral implantology. The second program deals with clinical implantology and is clinical-practical in nature. Its aim is to obtain the practical knowledge, skills and abilities to enable case planning and conduct surgical and prosthetic procedures for implant-supported oral rehabilitation by following a digital workflow. As regards this point, clinical teacher Dr. Eduard Ferr\u00e9s Amat explains that the training course is structured in such a way as to attach paramount importance to the practical part, \u201cbecause we believe that students need to be able to do everything they have previously been prepared for in the theoretical part.\u201d He then adds: \u201cAssistants will be able to place implants in patients in this training course, which is a very important aspect because they will be able to perform surgery alongside trained professionals and learn how to recognize and confront any possible problems that may arise.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"responsive\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.avinent.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2019\/12\/ferres-amatavinent.jpg?1532615578787\" alt=\"ferres-amatavinent\"><\/p>\n<p>The theoretical part of the course will take place at the Acad\u00e8mia de Ci\u00e8ncies M\u00e8diques i de la Salut de Catalunya i de Balears, in Barcelona, and the practical part will be held at the Col\u00b7legi Oficial d\u2019Odont\u00f2legs i Estomat\u00f2legs de Catalunya (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.coec.cat\/es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span class=\"azul\">COEC<\/span><\/a>), also located in Barcelona.<\/p>\n<p>The 431-hour course has been included for the second consecutive year in the training program of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.interacsalut.cat\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span class=\"azul\">Fundaci\u00f3 Institut Interuniversitari InterAc Salut<\/span><\/a>, with a university accreditation that grants a certificate of 20 credits for the Universitat Aut\u00f2noma de Barcelona (UAB), the Universitat de Girona (UdG), the Universitat de Lleida (UdL) and the Universitat Rovira i Virgili (URV). A diploma in Oral Implantology, Surgery and Prosthetics is awarded on completion of the course. In the case of the Universitat de Girona (UdG), students can obtain a Postgraduate Diploma in Oral Implantology, Surgery and Prosthetics as a degree from this university if the procedure currently opened by the UdG is approved.<\/p>\n<p>The teaching staff will comprise specialists with expertise in various fields of oral implantology and the course will also include a series of guest lecturers of renowned prestige, in order to share their knowledge and experience by offering students a sample of the most advanced lines of research and therapeutic possibilities.<\/p>\n<p>Places for this comprehensive training course are limited.
