AVINENT, loyal to its principles, empowers innovation, research and technology as fundamental pillars in its development and growth. Furthermore, throughout its years of experience it has forged important relationships with universities to carry out studies to endorse its product lines. As a result, it has been able to development new lines of research and new products, substantially improve already existing ones, reformulate processes and discover new completely innovative applications.

On 11 January 2019, the scientific Journal of Function Biomaterials published a prospective, multi-centre and non-interventional study that analysed the survival of BIOMIMETIC OCEAN implants in 212 patients.

The study investigated the performance of OCEAN implants with a modified calcium-phosphate surface in patients during a 24 month monitoring period after the prosthetic burden, taking into account the risk factors and the different medical situations of each patient.

Of the 212 patients participating in the study, 51.5% were men and 48.5% were women within an age range of 51.2 and 11.9 years. 87.2% of the patients received between one and four implants and were operated on by two oral surgeons and one maxillofacial surgeon.

According to the results of the study, it was determined that 73.5% of the implants inserted were of the internal connection variety, with 59.4% being placed in the maxilla and 40.6% in the mandibula.

The study concluded that OCEAN implants with a calcium-phosphate modified Biometric Advanced Surface are associated with a high success rate and should be considered as an excellent selection method in clinical practices.

98.32% of the implants were successful in the mouth at the end of the 24 month monitoring period. After the prosthetic burden, only 1.68% of the implants failed due to factors external to the implant (35.8% due to bruxism, 30.2% due to controlled periodontal treatment and 18.8% due to smoking).

BIOMIMETIC OCEAN is presented as an efficient implant for the professional and offers optimum aesthetic results for the patient.
