Innovation leads to success. This holds true for science, dentistry and training. This was demonstrated once again by AVINENT, which, faithful to its values of innovation, promoted AVINENT DENTISTRY 4.0, an event dedicated to dental and prosthetic professionals where they could learn firsthand about the new digital flow technologies and working methods.
Sharing knowledge is one of the pillars of AVINENT, but this time they took it a step further, revolutionizing this kind of event. Therefore, over 250 people attending the event got answers to their questions in an innovative, suggestive, relaxed and immersive environment that awakened all five senses and took them through the different stations of AVINENT’s digital flow, including intraoral scanning, guided surgery, CAD-CAM design, 3D printing and more.
AVINENT DENTISTRY 4.0 was a day designed to adapt to the schedules and obligations of everyone attending, who could enter and leave at any time. Attendees could enjoy excellent food and drink, the perfect complement to comfortably digest all the digital innovations presented.
A different innovation was presented in each room. The first workstation featured the Coral, Ocean and Pearl implant systems, which ensure greater bone integration and predictability thanks to their revolutionary surface, inspired by nature. Right beside them, the attendees could see the 3Shape TRIOS intraoral scanner firsthand and test it out personally. They could see how this technology increases the reliability and predictability of the final result, reducing the chance of making mistakes and achieving optimal customized treatment.
The most trailblazing advances in guided surgery were also presented in the same part of this modernista (Catalan Art Nouveau) building. Attendees could observe and examine 3Shape Implant Studio® software, which allows clinics to plan surgery from start to finish. They could also see how the implant placement protocol provides greater security, improves the postoperative period for patients and makes professionals’ work easier.
The next thematic station displayed the 3Shape Dental System, a latest-generation software program that prepares a digital design of the prosthetic structures to achieve painstakingly precise milling. Beside it was the new D2000 multi-line scanner, which helps to multiply lab productivity with its new scanner technology that captures multiple scan lines in a single shot.
The final section was dedicated to Roland’s new milling machines, which could be seen operating live and allowed the attendees to imagine the possibilities of having a five-axis milling machine to obtain structures quickly and efficiently. Next to them, attendees could see the most advanced technology by Formlabs and the most prominent advances in 3D printing applied to dentistry, which confirmed the possibilities of 3D printing and the printing of models and surgical splints to make the final leap to the full digital system and achieve geometries of great complexity.
Attendee satisfaction
All the professionals in attendance agreed about the benefits of combining the innovations in the digital flow of the dental sector with a unique and relaxed environment. Dr. Marta Cirach, a dentist and orthodontist who owns the Clínica Odontólogica Cirach (Barcelona), says that “technology advances, and with it, so do the chances to solve the new medical challenges emerging in the dental sector, many of which we could study today at AVINENT DENTISTRY 4.0.”
According to Dr. Marc Vilaró, owner of the dental lab Vicodent (Mataró), “everyone benefits at events like this. AVINENT can deploy all its tremendous potential and dentists and specialists can get up to date on the newest developments in the market, which is changing faster and faster.” He also values that he “can verify the advantages of the new tools by speaking with professionals who give the maximum personalized attention to each attendee.”
Top-level partners
One of the main reasons why AVINENT is the way to access the digital future of the dental sector is because of its close relationship with the best brands in all areas. In a constantly changing sector well into the 21st century, the best brands want to work together with AVINENT due to its ability to bring value to all processes and materials and their total customization.
In the words of Luis Molina, the country manager for 3Shape in Spain, “the objective of the day was for professionals to be able to openly discuss their misgivings, interact and enjoy the digital flow in dentistry, and I think that all attendees were able to achieve it.”
Núria Roca, the head of dental account sales for Roland DG Iberia, says that the customization concept linked with AVINENT refers not only to its products, which adapt to dental professionals’ different needs. “It goes much further. It’s a cross-cutting concept that distinguishes everyone working at the company.”
Agustí Ripoll, an applications engineer in the Iberian area of FOLLOW-ME! and a hyperDENT applications engineer, says that many experiences are being generated today whose factor in common is cooperation. “Today, the amount and quality of cooperation is increasing in the business world, especially in the dental sector,” adding that “AVINENT is a great example of collaboration with which the end user perceives that the sector is engaging in joint efforts to provide comprehensive solutions.”
