The guided-surgery option allows more precise and minimally invasive implant placement, which can be localized to avoid important anatomic structures, such as the maxillary sinus or inferior alveolar nerve, thus minimizing the risk of damage.
With this system, the doctor can plan surgery by considering the final result of the prosthesis, soft tissue, and bone tissue, thus optimizing the available bone. On the other hand, this expedites the option of making customized temporary prostheses and facilitates guided implant surgery using a surgical guide and an innovative surgical protocol. Optimal positioning of the previously planned implant is achieved, giving the patient a much more comfortable postoperative period.
The operation of the system integrated into the digital workflow can now be seen for the first time at Expodental 2014 (March 11-13 at the Madrid IFEMA fair), at the Avinent-Core3dcentres stand (7D04 – Hall 7).
The guided-surgery video can also be seen here.
