As part of the partnership agreement between UB and AVINENT, a new chair has recently been appointed to provide for the various needs of the oral implantology sector. As such, AVINENT’s framework for action to develop new lines of research with a leading entity such as the Universitat de Barcelona has broadened in scope. With this partnership, AVINENT now collaborates actively with more than 15 entities, many of them universities, to continue extending clinical research in the field of implantology and maxillofacial surgery.
From a patient perspective, this partnership means new opportunities for finding all-encompassing patient-centred treatments. AVINENT works continuously with dentists, prosthetic technicians and maxillofacial surgeons and is why these new studies, training and ongoing collaboration with UB will add further value to a proposal that goes beyond mere treatment, in an attempt to analyse planning from a holistic perspective.
The partnership between the Universitat de Barcelona and AVINENT has come about with the aim of generating new knowledge through the following objectives:
TRAINING
-Technical refresher courses on oral implantology led by the AVINENT engineering team for professionals at the UB Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. Regular training activities for professionals in the sector led by specialists from the Universitat de Barcelona.

RESEARCH
-Development of new products and tools to assist in dentistry.
– Clinical and pre-clinical trials in order to extend the scientific endorsement of the various AVINENT products.
– Publication of research articles in sector-related journals.
– Creation of a UB-AVINENT chair award to encourage clinical excellency in oral implantology.
